Assistant Professor of Psychology

Southern Illinois University Edwardsville’s School of Education, Health, and Human Behavior is seeking qualified applicants for an Assistant Professor-Psychology position.  Preferred applicants will demonstrate a strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching of clinical child and school psychology courses both in-person and online. The department seeks a strong scholar who can add to the diversity of research interests among our faculty and contribute to our collegial and student-focused department.  Responsibilities will also include advising graduate students, chairing theses, supervising student research, and serving on departmental, school, and university committees. 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Ability to teach graduate courses in Seminar in School Psychology, Cognitive Assessment, Behavioral and Emotional Assessment, Counseling and Psychotherapy, Crisis Intervention and other graduate-level Clinical Child and School Psychology program content; actual course assignments may vary depending on departmental needs and may include Multicultural Issues in School Psychology. 

• Ability to teach undergraduate courses in Psychological Tests & Measures, Child Psychology, Lifespan Development, Applied Behavior Analysis, Child & Adolescent Mental Health, Introduction to School Psychology, and/or Multicultural Psychology; actual course assignments may vary depending on departmental needs. 

• Ability to teach online courses. 

• Demonstrated interest in teaching and working with students from diverse backgrounds. 

• Interest in engaging students in research and experiential learning. 

• Evidence of peer-reviewed scholarship. 

• Commitment to departmental and university collegiality through engagement in service activities.
