Provide culturally sensitive counseling, therapy, and/or psychotherapy to clients presenting a broad range of social, developmental, and psychiatric concerns. Prepare treatment plans collaboratively with students, including termination and client referral as appropriate. Facilitate crisis/emergency interventions and support colleagues during crises. Collect data about clients through initial consultations and make decisions regarding appropriate referrals. Apply crisis intervention techniques to de-escalate high-risk situations, including decision making related to higher levels of care (e.g., hospitalization). Develop, present, and evaluate educational outreach programs/workshops tailored to the needs of a diverse, multicultural campus community. Coordinate with university officials, employees, and external mental health, substance abuse, and/or law enforcement agencies as necessary. Lead and develop programming that addresses the unique challenges faced by Latinx, immigrant, first-generation, and other underrepresented students. Consult with staff psychologists, counselors, and trainees to coordinate urgent and high-risk cases. Engage in community outreach and build partnerships with local mental health resources and advocacy organizations. Individual and group supervision of practicum and intern trainees, as needed. Psychodiagnostic assessments to include diagnostic clarification assessments and threat and safety assessments, as needed.
