The Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Manhattan office, is seeking to hire a full-time psychologist to join our established team of clinicians and provide excellent care using evidenced based and targeted intervention treatment methods splitting their time between the transdiagnostic and early childhood services.
Knowledge of underlying factors that contribute to mental health disorders in children and adolescents is required. Experience in conducting diagnostic evaluations for a wide range of childhood disorders, including anxiety, mood, and disruptive behavior disorders is required. Ideally, expertise in diagnostic evaluation, proficiency in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Behavior Therapy and Parent Management Training is encouraged. Candidate must be willing to conduct workshops and webinars (e.g., for parents/teachers). Experience in identifying core cognitive, emotional, or behavioral processes that are relevant across different disorders is desired.
Additionally, the candidate will be expected to provide evidence-based treatments to children under age 7. Knowledge of normative developmental milestones and factors contributing to mental health disorders in young children is required. The ideal candidate has proficiency in conducting diagnostic evaluations with young children, experience with behavioral and cognitive behavior therapy, and expertise in parent management training and school consultation. Training in Parent Child Interaction Therapy and modifications is encouraged. Interest in program development is encouraged.
The position carries an academic appointment within the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, which is one of only two independent child and adolescent psychiatry departments within an academic medical center in the nation. Ideal candidates are energetic clinicians with a commitment to clinical and academic excellence and an aptitude and enthusiasm for outpatient practice.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The annual salary range for a junior faculty role is $111,351 to $116,792. Candidates who qualify for higher faculty appointments are also encouraged to apply. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including faculty appointment, credentials, research history, specialty, and health system need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
