ABOUT ALLENDALE

The Allendale is a private, not-for-profit organization located in Lake Villa, Illinois. Founded in 1897, Allendale serves troubled youth and their families. Allendale’s main programs include the following: educational services, clinical and community services and residential treatment services.  The residency includes training in the REStArT model, a trauma informed approach to treatment.

GENERAL FUNCTION

Performs agency approved individual, group, and family therapy to Outpatient and Stepping Stone Therapeutic Day School clients as assigned; provide intake services to the Outpatient Program; complete psychological testing in the Outpatient and/or Stepping Stone Therapeutic Day School as assigned. 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Gains knowledge of and implements the agency REStArT model as well as other trauma-informed therapeutic interventions or treatment modalities and provides consultation as part of the treatment team.
  2. Infuses the principles of cultural humility, self-reflection, and other diversity, equity, and inclusion fundamentals into their work with clients, supervisees, and staff in all areas.
  3. Maintains an expected level of direct service hours, including an expected number of evening hours after 5pm.
  4. Performs individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, psychological testing, and clinical consultation, ensuring clinical requirements of individual treatment plans are being met.
  5. Conducts outpatient intake screenings.
  6. Prepares and maintains current and accurate clinical files and staffing reports. Keeps all aspects of clinical files in compliance with accreditation/insurance standards as needed for client care. Maintains current and accurate billing, statistics, and payment documentation.
  7. Attends and participates in case staffings, peer file audit/peer case reviews, school progress/IEP meetings, team meetings, clinical meetings, other relevant meetings and provides relevant information. Coordinates services for clients with professional staff in other agency program areas as well as with staff in external agencies related to each case. 
  8. Provides Clinical Consultation with representatives from the treatment team as assigned.
  9. Provides consultation and support to other agency professional staff.
  10. Maintains knowledge of current field trends; maintains membership in appropriate internal and external committees and professional organizations.
  11. Develops working relationships with external and internal referral sources, community support groups, and volunteers; and provides consultation and education to community groups and organizations.
  12. Attends all required supervisions/consultations and seminars on a regular basis and attends appropriate trainings.
  13. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

REQUIRED:

  1. Doctorate Degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology

DESIRED:

  1. Prior experience with an emphasis in the treatment of children, adolescents, adults, and families
  2. Prior experience in a non-profit, educational and/or outpatient setting
  3. In process of attaining or has obtained state Clinical Psychologist licensure
